The Health Science Libraries of Minnesota (HSLM) Sponsors a Library Program Day on October 13, 2009


Audience:
Library staff in all positions are invited to attend.

Location:
Burnsville Performing Arts Center (directions and location for the BPAC are found at http://www.burnsvillepac.com/visit-bpac)

Lunch:
Attendees are encouraged to walk to one of the three surrounding restaurants for lunch from 12 noon to 1:30. Other restaurants are located within driving distance.

Program Sessions:

Morning (10 a.m. - 12 noon) Session: Prescription for Success: Consumer Health Information on the Web
Samanthi Hewakapuge (Consumer Health Coordinator, Greater Midwest Region, National Network of Libraries of Medicine)
This session is located in the Upper Lobby of the BPAC (seating capacity of 200)

Afternoon (1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.) Session: Cool Web 2.0 Tools
Melissa Rethlefsen (Librarian/Asst. Professor of Medical Education, Learning Resource Center, Mayo Clinic)
This session is located in the Black Box Theatre of the BPAC (seating capacity of 150)

Registration:
You may register by sending an e-mail to paul.dahl@state.mn.us before October 10. There is a charge of $10 for each session ($20 total if attending both sessions) if not a library staff member of a health science library in Minnesota or a bordering state. Checks need to be made out to Health Science Libraries of Minnesota and turned in at the registration area at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center on October 13. Cash will not be accepted.

Library staff of other libraries may register by sending an e-mail to paul.dahl@state.mn.us starting on September
28 and ending on October 9. There is a charge of $10 for each session ($20 total if attending both sessions).
