Security in Libraries: J.R. Hunter, Security Supervisor, Hennepin County Library System
. Tips on creating a more secure environment in your library from an expert. 6:30 - 8:00 PM, Coeur de Catherine Building, lower level, room 17 on the St. Catherine University St. Paul Campus. J.R. Hunter is a supervisor for the Hennepin County security division overseeing all of the 40 Hennepin County libraries. J.R.'s security experience spans 20 years from Level One trauma centers to police work to museums. This distinctive background provides him with the right perspective and knowledge to address emerging security issues in libraries. J.R. will talk about work environments in public libraries: difficult patrons, behavior, judgment, staying focused during confrontation, when to call 911 and more!

CatExpress gives you direct access to the WorldCat records you need for copy cataloging. This class will show you how to use CatExpress to search for, edit, and export records and how to set or delete holdings in WorldCat. It will also touch on some options for customizing, CatExpress pricing, and sources for documentation and statistics.

Who should attend?:
This class is intended for anyone new to CatExpress and copy cataloging. Established, but basic, users of CatExpress may also benefit from the class by filling in foundational knowledge that will allow them to work with CatExpress more effectively.

Prerequisites:
None.
